Beware that the "restauration" effort primarily has to do with what can be restored at all, which is heavily limited to content that was removed between v0.7 and v1.0 to appease Patreon. Already from v1.0 and going forward into the DLCs there is nothing to be restored anymore, which is why to me it's not worth waiting for DLCs or hoping they will be good. ALL the pervy kinks that made pre-v1.0 MC good will be absent. There will be no realistic way to correct and enhance the DLCs by adding said kinds through mods because mods can't realistically add new visuals. It would be WAAAAY too much work and anyone who could mod at that level is FAR better off developing their own game instead of improving ICSTOR's game for free.
For DLCs the "restauration" will be a misnomer. All it will mean is dialogue will be modified to (in effect) retcon incest. But because incest will not be baked into the original, the retcon will be VERY bland incest-wise (i.e. the kink will be dead) unless someone who is IMPOSSIBLY good at writing adult screenplays rewrites large portions of the game while using just the visuals the game ships with AND is willing to do it for free for some reason. You have a better chance at winning the lottery without buying a ticket than there is for the aforementioned to happen so tune your expectations on what the DLCs will be like, IF they will ever even be released at all.
Patreon has gone full retard with their Fantasy Police, finally squeezing adult games to the point where only the blandest possible sex can be depicted. The insanity goes far beyond banning incest. It has to do with how Patreon demands consent to be depicted. Characters pretty much need to yell I CONSENT!!! I CONSENT!!! every few minutes or else some woke piece of shit working at Patreon can abusively nuke you from their platform with zero dialogue and total impunity (has already happened to several major games). The only out is to religiously only depict woke sex which is something nobody wants, not even the woke as evidenced by the latest demographics.
I'll reiterate just to be clear. Fantasy sex that's been mainstream in normal porn for decades, like "step"-brother/sister, BDSM, manhandling, female domination, etc. puts your game at insurmountable risk of being banned with no way for you to explain anything to Patreon, no narrow change demand from Patreon, they will just ban you because they don't "feel" like your game depicts "correct" fantasies. Not talking to those who are banned is essential because talking exposes them to liability. It's infinitely better for them to just ban people they don't like with a generic "T&C violation" message. Good luck beating that in a California court, in case you are in the 0.01% who can afford taking even the first step on that path.
So the consequence is that current Patreon adult games will either become so woke nobody will want to touch them, die or go to some other platform (there is no other platform that can provide income at a similar level so choose from the first two options).

Give the author some commendation to encourage them for the hard work.
I believe it is planned to "fix" the DLC stuff as well...

Actually, everything you pointed out is already done that way. The Content Restoration Mod isn't actually restoring new text introduced with 1.0; there's nothing to restore from. What it does is rewrite it to blend seamlessly with the original and adds to it. It will be the same for the DLCs.
I haven't played MC v1.0 at all. As you may remember, I said I'll wait for the [COMPLETED] r-patch (v0.6+?) no matter how long my beard gets
, so it can't be said I criticized your writing in r-patch as being less than "IMPOSSIBLY good".It's not lost on me how difficult it is to not only restore whatever visuals, choices & dialogues were removed between v0.7 and v1.0 BUT also what you said (and I wasn't fully aware of), to alter many completely new v1.0 dialogues and make incest more kinky/lively.
HOWEVER, not having original support for incest baked in by ICSTOR, massively limits the creativity, spiciness and just what can be done with a mod.
My opinion is this lack of baked in support will become a major problem for incest in the DLCs.
Just to give an example, ICSTOR may decide that in one of the DLCs where we get an ending with Sara (lil sis), the story goes that MC & Sara win a megavacation or foreign scholarship or something that takes them away from the family to have their marriage and maybe pregnancy unfold. Now it's immediately obvious no amount of dialogue tweaking will make the incest spicier than it could be if they stayed at home and the perviness would've somehow incorporated big sis, mom, dad, etc. Would love to see big sis drink milk from Sara or milk her but it won't happen if ICSTOR makes the aforementioned choice, which is not that far fetched.
Thanks. I have been tracking that patch too but Powerbabe's is more important, I think. Once Powerbabe is done, I'll see how the two patches differ and which combo gives the best gameplay. A few months ago timbukalso said he'll keep up with Powerbabe's patch and harmonize his own with new versions of the former to avoid conflicts so there's reason to believe in the end we'll have good options.

Not really, the Tech Update is needed because they had like four or five different coders over the years and each of them did their preference coding. That's why the Tech Update is needed in the first place to "unfuck" this mess. They could hire more people to work on the Code, yes. But when the different coders would be working with their preference it ends up as a mess again. They would need Coders which are working exactly as Summertime Sagas newest Coder.

Development has definitely impacted this particular game when speaking about quality, so I don't think it'd be fair to you to write up a response without such a factor included.
The content restoration mod doesn't hold significance on the game's overall rating. While the game as a whole can be considered slightly above average, it falls short of being classified as 'good.' It was definitely very good back in it's hayday. But the primary reason for it's lack of quality currently is the sluggish pace of production, which has left it lagging behind other titles in the adult game industry as developers have simply improved their craft. Let's say I were to compare this to older games (Basically older than 4+ years), sure it may better than average, but against recent releases newer than that time-frame, it'll struggle to compete. That's about as unbiased a review as you might find if I'm gauging outside of personal feelings like a lot of others do.
If I were to use an extremely basic tier rating, there are other games out there that can be consider S/A-tier, and I'd currently rank this maybe B-. So, it's not "bad", per se, but I don't know if it'd qualify as a "must-play".

No need to install Python it's provided with each Ren'Py games.
Even on standard hard disk, the game should start in a minute or less.
I think it's much more a broken archive or mod's badly installed.
Re-download the game and try without any mod.
